Endings!

Mood: tired
How do you end your stories? Do you end your stories in:
  • A cute, romantic scene between you main characters? (like at the end of Twice Bitten by Chloe Niell)
  • A new oppertunity for your main character (like at the end of Rampant by Diana Peterfreund)
  • killing a main character (like at the end of Van Helsing the movie)
  • in a realization (like at the end of White Cat by Holly Black)
I could go on, but my brian is fuzy. I'm too tired to list more. But still. How do you end your stories? I never get past the first comple of pages to even right an ending. I normally have the IDEA for the ending already planned out though. In my IDEA I normally end with a romantic scene just because I love romance. :)

Happy Halloween!

Mood: comme ci comme ca
As all of y'all know it's Halloween today! YAY! Which means free candy! It also means little kids ringing your doorbell every two seconds, but hey what is childhood without a memory of getting candy on Halloween? Annyways since it is Halloween I'm spending the day 1) writing (since I keep prcastinating & what better day to write on than Halloween?) 2) go shopping (I forgot to get candy and I also need duct tape ^.^) and 3) eat the candy :D. Sounds like a fun day right? Well Happy Halloween! Don't forget to play the scary maze game today!

24

Mood: Happy
I found this song that fits PERFECTLY with this book idea I had. The idea came from this really weird dream. From the dream I just kept building onto it. Until I had a big ol' snowball (metaphorically.) I really haven't worked on it lately just because I have so may ideas that are scremaing to be written. But I might touch on it later today.
So anyway that song that fits with my story is 24 by Jem.
the lyrics are:

Been given 24 hours
to tie up loose ends
to make amends
His eyes said it all
I started to fall
and the silence deafened
Head spinning round
no time to sit down
just wanted to
run and run and run
Be careful they say
don’t wish life away,
now I’ve one day

And I can’t believe
How I’ve been wasting my time

In 24 hours they’ll be
laying flowers
on my life, it’s over tonight
I’m not messing no I
need your blessing
and your promise to live free
please do it for me

Is there a heaven a hell
and will I come back
who can tell
Now I can see
what matters to me
it’s as clear as crystal
The places I’ve been
the people I’ve seen
plans that I made
start to fade
The sun’s setting gold
thought I would grow old,
it wasn’t to be

And I can’t believe
How I’ve been wasting my time

In 18 hours they’ll be
laying flowers
on my life, it’s over tonight
I’m not messing no I
need your blessing
and your promise to live free
please do it for me

In 13 hours they’ll be
laying flowers
on my life, it’s over tonight
I’m not messing no I
need your blessing
and your promise to live free
Please do it for me

I’m not alone, I sense it, I sense it
All that I said, I meant it, I meant it

And I can’t believe
How much I’ve wasted my time

In just 8 hours they’ll be
laying flowers
on my life, it’s over tonight
I’m not messing no I
need your blessing
and your promise to live free
please do it for me

In just 1 hour they’ll be
laying flowers
on my life, it’s over tonight
I’m not messing no I
need your blessing
and your promise to live free
please do it for me

Awesome song right?

Misc

Mood: Happy
OMG! So I'm watching The Corpse Bride on ABC family for the first time EVER. Sad I know, but when I was younger I thought it was scary. Anyways I'm only watching it because of 1) it's almost Halloween so I kinda have to 2) IT HAS JOHNNY DEPP! I <3 him.
Also I'm watching Hocus Pocus for the first time ever tonight. I know both are belated, but better late then never right?
But other than watch Halloween movies I plan on writing. And what better motivation than watching movies.. and reading an expert of Hard Bitten? I read this expert Chloe Niell just posted and LMFAO! I could not stop laughing. It was HILARIOUS! Love it!
So back to writing and Halloween movies.

La. La. LAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Mood: still tired
SO right this second I'm listening to Airplanes 3.0 by Travis Garland. LOVE HIM! If you haven't heard of him look him up :). Anyways it's a truly beautiful song. I LOVE it.
I actually read a book and this was the song I listened to just becuase it fit perfectly with the story.
So that's the topic of this post. Songs.
Do you ever get story ideas from a song? Or is it just me? The way I think of it as someone out there had a story to tell. They just don't write it like I do. They put it into a song. Which I think takes talent. I can't write music very well. But anyways I got a tad off topic. They are telling their story. About something that is real. Most songs have a true meaning and can touch a person if you pay attention. That's what I like. I love to write story based on songs. What about you?

Friday 5

Mood: tired, exhausted
I've never done a Friday 5 before so sorry if I do it wrong. So the first 2 I'm writing on my way to school. Joy right?

1. So this morning I was drinking coffee & I suddenly felt SUPER hot. I was wearing long jeans and OMG I was burning up. But anyways so I was in a hurry to get out the door, and the second I get out the door I'm welcomed with a nice cool breeze. :)

2. So in my enjoyment of this wonderful fall breeze I didn't notice this HUGE SCARECROW my neighbors put up for Halloween! Yeah saying I was creeped out is an understatement! HELLO! they are like clowns and sticks! NOT a cool combo.

3. Okay so I got this amazing new nail polish in the mail from Hot Topic :D Anyways so when I bought it, it said that it smelled like Jawbreakers. I'm thinking "That's so awesome! I want it!" So when I got it today first thing I did was smell it. It smelt just like regular nail polish. BOOOO! >:( But then I tried it on. It's now dry and it DOES smell like Jawbreakers. :D So happy.

4. So you guys know how I was SOOOO excited for my new books I got in the mail? Well one of the books (Firespell by Chloe Niell) was MESSED UP! Not the plot or anything (which I really liked. Well the part that was actually IN the book.) my book went from page 120 to 89 then 120 to 153. ANd when I saw it I wa sthinking "Oh it's just a typo." WRONG! Page 120 stopped mid sentence and then 153 was a new PARAGRAPH! It really pissed me off. So now I have a defective book. Oh the joy!

5. Halloween is coming up! I don't think I'm doing anything though. :/ I kinda wanna see what all the little kids are wearing this year. Wow I sound like a creeper. But when I was little everyone was like princess and superheros. But I think a lot of people are going as Lady Gaga. That sound be interesting.

Now I had two other things I was going to put as this wonderful Friday 5, BUT I decided I'll mke a full post for both. Lucky you. So I'm going to go write those.

BRAIN OVERLOAD!

Mood: exhausted
No this isn't about school. Yes, that is probably one of the factors to my brain overload but thats beside the point. My brain overload is MAINLY caused by so many ideas. I REALLY want to right this story about a demon hunter. BUT I have a story about Cupid that needs to be written as well as a story based on a dream. PLUS two misc scenes. Don't get me wrong I love writing. I honestly do, BUT I can't think properly with s many ideas SWARMING my head. Now wait til next week where I'll complain how I'm having a writing drought. :/ Sigh one story at a time I guess. Now my real problem is which one do I start with. SIGH!

XOXO

OHHHHH SHINY!

Mood: mixed feelings
New Idea! New Idea! New Idea! In case you can't tell I have a new idea. One I'm very proud of. Mainly because it's an add on idea. "An add on idea? What's that?" you ask. Well an add on idea is like the name implies. I'm add to another story idea. Now I know you're wondering "than how is it a 'new idea'?" BECAUSE my dear friend I'm changing the entire plot. Even my main romance is changing. Risky I know. But my old idea sounded too much like the Drake Chronicles. Don't get me wrong I LOVE the Drake Chronicles, but I don't want to seem like a copy cat. So the fact I came up (like totally out of the blue came up not the whole sitting in front of a blank computer screen coming up) is HUGE! I'm so! BUT (uh oh the dreaded but) I'm worried I'll spend all my brain power on this story that I'll forget all about my Cupid story (which btw is the last I'm talking about that story which is currently under lock and key ;) don't worry I'll talk about it more when the major plot comes into play.) Well I'm excited. :D I'm gonna start writing. Wish me luck.

WTF?!?!

Mood: confused and frustrated
WTF?! Has anyone read the Hollow by Jessica Verday? IT MAKES ZERO SENSE! She just ended it like "oh I'm bored of writing lets just get it published so I can stop writing." The ending made no sense. The whole "shade" stuff made sense but was stupid. Really? In love with a ghost? And she had no idea? Come on I've smelt fishy that were less fishy. Also were the heck did Crane come from? Also what about Kristen? Is the book about her or not? And what about D?She only mentioned D for like a chapter then was like "oh your not important anymore bye-bye."

UGH! Total waste of 1) print 2) time 3) money. I hate to sound so judgmental about the book but come on it was mostly incoherent rambling. Everything about the book was confusing and just WTF.

Sorry for my mini rant but hey its my blog so I'll probably post a couple of mini rants.

XOXO

Blah. Blah. Blah.

Mood: random
So I was watching the latest Vampire Diaires episode (by the way what did you think of the whole Jenna and the knife scence? Can you so jaw-dropper? Also did anyone else almost shed a tear when Elena was talking to Damen? UGH I LOVE DAMEN! Some people should get to be that darn cute. Also did anyone bug out when they saw Matt and Catherine? I'd never want to play HER in chess.) and I saw the Clockwork Angels commercial. I didn't even KNOW the were giving that out to TV channels. I mean I knew they played it on MTV or something but still AHHHH! I STILL love that commercial.

On a side not has anyone read the Hollow by Jessica Verday? I'm reading it and OMG I'm so freaking bored. The relationship is so BORING! How can she say she's in love after seeing the guy like three times. Also I hate those "Lust at First Sight" stories. I mean thinking "Hey he's cute" is one the acting like a Psycho Obsessed Follow (or as I like to call them POF) is another. I mean come on how many times did she think about going to the bridge just to see him. HELLO?? Some people might think you're a stalker. Just saying. I've never been in love so I guess I don't have much say but come on I know "Only fools fall in love" but why can't we at LEAST change the saying to "Only well written characters fall in love?" Also WTF is up with that old guy? Nikolas? And who's D? I thought he was Caspian at first (still do) but IDK something is defiantly up with him.

OMG! BTW in case anyone cares The Thirteenth Chime by Emma Michaels just came in! I'm so excited. It looks AWESOME! I just LOVE the cover. I have an obsession with eyes so maybe that's why. But isn't it gorgeous?

Got to go

When one day Lily finds Scout running from real-life monsters, she learns the hard way that Scout is involved in a splinter group of rebel teens. Oh, and luckily Ethan's offering some steamy, one-on-one combat training sessions to help her prepare for the mission. Unfortunately, someone is gunning for Gabriel, and Merit soon finds herself in the line of fire. She'll need all the help she can get to track down the would-be assassin, but everywhere she turns, there are rising tensions between supernaturals-not least between her and a certain green-eyed, centuries-old master vampire.

Brightly Woven
by Alexandra Bracken

When Wayland North brings rain to a region that's been dry for over ten years, he's promised anything he'd like as a reward. He chooses the village elder's daughter, sixteen-year-old Sydelle Mirabel, who is a skilled weaver and has an unusual knack for repairing his magical cloaks. Though Sydelle has dreamt of escaping her home, she's hurt that her parents relinquish her so freely and finds herself awed and afraid of the slightly ragtag wizard who is unlike any of the men of magic in the tales she's heard. Still, she is drawn to this mysterious man who is fiercely protective of her and so reluctant to share his own past. The pair rushes toward the capital, intent to stop an imminent war, pursued by Reuel Dorwan (a dark wizard who has taken a keen interest in Sydelle) and plagued by unusually wild weather. But the sudden earthquakes and freak snowstorms may not be a coincidence. As Sydelle discovers North's dark secret and the reason for his interest in her and learns to master her own mysterious power, it becomes increasingly clear that the fate of the kingdom rests in her fingertips. She will either be a savior, weaving together the frayed bonds between Saldorra and Auster, or the disastrous force that destroys both kingdoms forever.

Ascendant
by Diana Peterfreund

Astrid Llewelyn is now a fully trained unicorn hunter, but she can’t solve all her problems with just a bow and arrow. Her boyfriend, Giovanni, has decided to leave Rome, the Cloisters is in dire financial straits, her best friend’s powers seem to be mysteriously disintegrating, and Astrid can’t help but feel that school, home, and her hopes of becoming a scientist are nothing but impossible dreams.

So when she’s given the opportunity to leave the Cloisters and put her skills to use as part of a scientific quest to discover the Remedy, Astrid leaps at the chance. Finally, she can have exactly what she wants—or can she? At Gordian headquarters, deep in the French countryside, Astrid begins to question everything she thought she believed: her love for Giovanni, her loyalty to the Cloisters, and—most of all—her duty as a hunter. Should Astrid be saving the world from killer unicorns, or saving the unicorns from the world?

See NOW do you see why you're jealous? I'm so excited! :D Can't wait! I'll post reviews later.

Until Death Do Us Part

Mood: Kinda depressed
How do you feel about killing off characters. In one of my stories, I'm think of killing off one of my main characters. It's hard to explain. Because if I don't then the story doesn't fit. But still... O don't like characters dying. It's just sad. What do you think about it? Do you kill off characters?

Shoot for the Stars

Mood: happy :)
I know I haven't posted in a while. PLEASE DON'T KILL ME! In my defense I've been buy... kinda. BUT I wrote three other posts I plan to post throught out the next few days. I'm also almost done with my book. YAY! (not the one I'm writing. BOO! :( But the on I'm reading) I'll post a book review up soon. So now it's time for my ACTUAL post for the day.

If you want to make your dreams come true, the first thing you have to do is wake up. ~J.M. Power

We all have goals. it's the only reason we wake up in the morning. We wake up for school so we can get an education. We wake up to see the guy we've been crushing on so you can possibly find love. Those are all goals. Some goals are long term. Some are short term.

Like my shot term goal to learn how to dance to Believe Me by the end of the weekend.
Or Like my long term goal to write a book. So what's your goal?

Stop and Stare

Mood: kinda depressed
Have you noticed sometimes we are so distarcted by finishing things we don't take the time to stop and enjoy life? I never really noticed until today. I was in the car on th highway and so many ideas just came to me. Some just add ons to past stries. Others were brand new ideas. I loved it. I wish I could come up with ideas that often. Sadly I don't. I found out the reason was because I am so busy I don't take the time to stop and just enjoy the simple things. And it's the simple things that most of my ideas come from. So stop and stare.

One, Two, THREE!

Mood: Excited
OMG! I'm so excited. So I'm in my Japanese class right now, and I just came up with the bet idea ever. I'M GOING TO RIGHT A TRILOGY! Yes, I said TRILOGY! AHHHHH!
So you know that idea I'm always talking about? Well I'm adding two more books to the series! (BTW, NO I haven't come up with a good middle yet.) SO I had one of my writer's daydreams during class, and I came up with TWO more books for my seires. I'm so happy! I always have a problem with making sequels. I can write one story then add another with different characters as the narrator, but I can never a sequel with the SAME characters as the narrators. WELL I'VE FINALLY DONE IT! I've always wanted to write a sequel with the same characters as the narrator, but the plot never worked for me. No it FINALLY has.

Only on problem....

....

....

....

My main character doesn't have a name. I mean I have a list of a few possible names, but I don't know none of them.... fit. Well wish me luck on finding the perfect name.

XOXO

Middles. OH THE JOY!

Mood: bored
So yesterday I talked about my new story. I LOVE it. Which I think is normal. Right? Most authors love their stories right? But my problem is......
......
......
......
......
THE MIDDLE! UGH! I have the beginning all mapped out. As well as the ending. But the middle. I have no idea. How do I get that perfect bridge between the beginning and the end? Every time I try even THINKING about the middle I get really confused. I want that perfect bridge that makes readers see my character evolve.

Tips?

EUREKA!!

Mood: tired
So I have this amazing story idea. I absolutely love it. I love all my characters (even the evil ones), but it's only in my head. All day I have their banter running through my head, but when I get a pencil in my hand or start typing I go blank. Do you guys get whats happening? I mean I know exactly what I want to say. From the prologue to the ending, but yet the words don't seem to work. I love my charactes and all. And I can't wait to tell their story but..... I just can't seem to sound.... right. I hate that. Maybe if i just sit in front of my computer for an hour maybe something will... fit. Wish me luck

Epic Fail :(

Mood: disappointed
So this morning I had this amazing writing idea. Let's just say I failed miserably. All I did was take a nap and watch Bones. What? I like Bones. But on the bright side I did post my thoughts on characters and their shoes. AND I came up with a new story idea. I'm really excited about it. I'm going to try to do that "A page a day" thingy. HOPEFULLY I'll have a complete book by Thanksgiving of next year. :D Well off to write my daily page.

SHOES!!!

Mood: Tired. YAWN
Okay so far I've been doing a REALLY bad job at my writing, so I FINALLY opened up word. My inspiration was the post I read on Blogger Girlz about shoes. It really made me think about who my characters REALLY are. I never realized how much a pair of shoes can say about a person. Personally I'm a pair of wedges girl myself, but I realized most of my characters aren't. When I started thinking about it I was thinking what my shoes say about ME. And you know what I came up with? My shoes basically say I can melt in the background. They also say how firmly I believe in staying in on place and a need to belong. That's what I think my shoes say. You might think they say "wow she has no taste in fashion." Maybe you're right. Maybe I am. I don't know. But a persons shoes says a lot about them. So why can't a pair of shoes say something about a character? Normally when I first "invent" a character I look for "the one". For me "the one" is a picture that screams I guess the essence I try to portray on my characters. Which is fine I guess, but that only shows the outer beauty of a character and very little of their actual personality. So I decided to give my characters shoes.

A Few of My Character's Shoes

Crystal (from "A Twist of Fate")
This shoe that is loud and knows how to make a statement. It can be impractical, but is totally worth it. These shoes are made for a girl who knows she's beautiful and knows how to show it off.

Desiree (from "Stupid Cupid")
A total tomboy shoe but feminine. It can be up in your face when it wants to. They get you where you needs to go, and perfect for dancing on the go. They're loud and bright.

Monica (from "the Hunted")
These shoes are unique and make a statement. They are creative and hard to miss. Perfect for a girl making money at a casino in Vegas. Not so much for a girl on the run.

As you can tell I like writing about bold characters. So what think of the shoes and my characters? Now back to my writing day.

XOXO

Plans for the Day

Mood:Excited
I know you must ALL care SOOO much about my plans for the day. Anyways so this morning I was watching Nikita and the Vampire Diaries on the CW. LOVE THOSE SHOWS! Anyways I bet that's so interesting to you. Well anyways I'm making pizza right now. YUM! I know it's early for lunch but hey I'm hungry. It's pepperoni. You know you're jealous. Anyways after I eat all those yummy carbs I'm going to do a writing project. My project is all about writing. Except I'm going to be sneaky about it. I'm going to watch TV to get better at my dialogue skillz. I'm going to google pictures for ideas. Listen to music for ideas etc. Sounds like fun right? basically I'm being a slacker, BUT everything (aside from the pizza and my homework I'll have to do later) has to do with writing. How smart am I? So who wants to join me? Any takers? Well I hope some of y'all do. I'm SOOO excited. I'll try to post later tonight about how my writing day went. MHMMMMM! I can smell the pizza. Until my next post. ;)

I'M IN LOVE!!!!

Mood: Comme ci, Comme ca
WITH A LITERARY CHARACTER >.< Scared ya didn't I. One thing I realized ALL my books on my book shelf (which if you know me I only keep the best of the best books on my book shelf) have AMAZING guys. I'm so in love with the guys in my books I don't think I can find a guy to live up to my expectations. It's kinda sad actually. But hey what can I say I love my YA guys. How could you not? I think out of all my past loves one stands out. JACE WAYLAND. In case you haven't already fallen in love with him he's the main guy in the Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. OMFG he is like THE dream guy. Maybe it's just me but I LOVE it when the guy is a sarcastic jack@$$. Also who doesn't love a guy who could kick any guys @$$ who gets to close ;). But Jace is everything I think a guy should be.
*HILARIOUS!
*cute
*mysterious
*caring
*charming
*will hurt anybody who tries to mess with you
*ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT YOU

I could go on, but you can read for yourself about how amazing he is. But I think I out in the main things he has (that all characters should). I loved reading about him. AND any time I think about amazing characters I think about him.

I wish I could write an amazing character like him, but I don't think I can anytime soon. I think I need to fall in love (with someone who is real) before I can write an amazing character. What do you think? Also what do you think a guy should be like (or girl)?

XOXO

I LOVE Blogging

Mood: Ready to blog
I really do love to blog. Even though no one actually reads what I have to say :(. I have had two other blogs (which turned out horribly) BUT they were so fun to do. My problem was i tried blogging EVERYDAY. Yeah not exactly the best idea for a slacker like me. So that's why this blog is just for my random writing ideas. I'm gonna talk about writing, books, food, music, whatever. Yes this is kinda like one of my other blogs but less organized which is a good thing. Okay I'm done babbling :) Be ready for some pretty amazing blog posts JK.... maybe. :)

XOXO
